This painting was made in tandem with my flores tristes series. It tells the story of rebirth and discovery of self. Echoing the sentiments of the crying flower paintings, this crying heart is an altar to the latent power of emotional embrace. There is a sense of freedom when we feel our deepest emotions, and this vulnerability can lead to an elevation of self. Or at least that’s what I’ve found to be true on my current journey.
